Supporting standards that matter in highways
PYE Management has become a member of the Road Surface Treatments Association (RSTA).
This decision reflects both the nature of our work and the clients we support. PYE Management works extensively across the highways sector, supporting organisations to manage carbon, governance, and assurance in line with recognised standards. Many of our clients are already members of RSTA, including RSTA itself, so joining formally was a natural and practical step.
Membership allows us to engage more closely with the conversations shaping road surface treatments and their role in a lower-carbon highways network.
Why RSTA matters to the highways industry
Road surface treatments play a critical role in maintaining the road network efficiently. When specified and delivered well, they extend asset life, reduce the need for more carbon-intensive interventions, and support better whole-life outcomes.
As expectations around carbon, performance, and accountability continue to increase, the importance of clear standards and shared good practice becomes even greater. RSTA provides a forum for collaboration, consistency, and improvement across the sector.
For PYE Management, this aligns closely with how we already work with clients: supporting informed decision-making, clear governance, and evidence-based approaches that stand up to scrutiny.
What RSTA membership enables in practice
Joining RSTA strengthens our ability to support clients in meaningful ways. It enables us to contribute to industry conversations, stay close to evolving practice, and maintain strong relationships with organisations delivering and specifying road surface treatments.
This matters because sustainability outcomes in highways are rarely achieved in isolation. Progress depends on alignment across the supply chain, from asset owners and designers through to contractors and specialist suppliers. Being part of RSTA helps ensure that our advice remains grounded in current industry realities.
A clear signal to clients
For our clients, RSTA membership is a simple but important signal.
It demonstrates PYE Management’s commitment to supporting road surface treatments as a key component of decarbonising the highways industry. Achieving net zero will require practical, well-governed solutions that reduce whole-life carbon, not just headline interventions.
Road surface treatments, when applied appropriately, are part of that solution.
By joining RSTA, PYE Management is reinforcing its commitment to working alongside the industry, supporting good practice, and contributing to a highways sector that delivers lower-carbon outcomes with confidence.
