IAT Scottish Branch – PAS 2080 Specification for Whole Carbon in Infrastructure
On 25 September 2025, I had the pleasure of speaking at the Institute of Asphalt Technology’s Scottish Branch event, ‘PAS 2080 Specification for Whole Carbon in Infrastructure,’ held at The Westerwood Hotel in Cumbernauld.
I shared practical insights on applying PAS 2080 in the highways and surfacing sectors, focusing on how the standard’s governance and data requirements can be used to identify and reduce carbon across the full asset lifecycle.
We discussed why carbon management must go beyond operational emissions and how collaboration between asset owners, designers, constructors and suppliers enables credible, whole-life reduction.
Events like this show that the asphalt and surfacing community is serious about measurable decarbonisation. It was a valuable opportunity to connect with peers and reinforce how consistent application of PAS 2080 builds both accountability and impact.
At PYE Management, we help teams implement these principles in practice, from early planning to verification.
