RSTA Greener Roads Ahead – Cardiff

RSTA Greener Roads Ahead – Cardiff

On 16 September 2025, I spoke at the Road Surface Treatments Association’s ‘Greener Roads Ahead’ Technical Training Day in Cardiff. The event brought together local and national authorities to explore practical ways to decarbonise highway maintenance while improving efficiency.

My session, ‘Considering Whole Life Carbon to Reach Net Zero,’ focused on how applying PAS 2080 principles helps local authorities and supply chains manage carbon more effectively. I discussed the importance of understanding whole-life carbon, from design through to end-of-life, and how shared accountability across the value chain supports measurable reduction.

It was encouraging to see so many delegates actively engaging with the challenges of decarbonisation and asking how governance, data and collaboration can turn strategy into action.

PYE Management continues to support clients in embedding PAS 2080 through training, audits and verification. Every discussion like this helps build the industry’s collective capability to deliver low-carbon outcomes.
